A
number of events occurred in my life over a period of 18
months that left me in a state of depression and insecurity.
Not only did I lack motivation and direction, I was very
unhappy. I decided I needed professional help and chose Coby.
Coby immediately showed me the compassion and understanding
that I needed at the time and from the first session I new
her concern for my wellbeing was genuine and that I had made
the right decision. She helped me to identify my problems quickly
and at each session we focused on one at a time. She knew the
right questions to ask and I managed closure on many issues.
Coby also helped me to clearly focus on and clarify my needs
and my goals and to then prioritise them. She then guided me
towards the right path to achieve them and taught me the necessary
strategies to do this. Even by the second session I could feel
a genuine improvement in my outlook and I was starting to feel
that life’s problems were definitely manageable.
Coby
managed to tap into the energy and strength that we both knew
I had and helped me to achieve both clarity of goals and closure
to problems. More importantly, with each session, I could feel
the passion once more! I was not lost and confused! I was firing
again! And I have learnt to be much gentler on myself.

We have a family
business in Capalaba and I asked Coby to help us with making
our business prosper. Coby spent some time with us and gave
us many suggestions to create a better environment. We implemented
Coby's suggestions and found that within a few days the atmosphere
at work was more positive and productive. Since Coby has
helped us, our business has improved and grown. Now we are
looking to expand into new premises. Thank you.

You have given
me some very valuable tips on how to reconnect with my 15
year old son. I put this into action immediately and was
rewarded with a positive and significant change in behaviour
almost instantly. Thank you.

I have known Coby for around 15 years
now. She has been a wonderful support to me over the years
as I have a 14 year old son, who is a beautiful boy however
there have been times as a parent when you are just not sure
you are making the right decision! She has the knowledge, especially
as a former high school teacher. Coby has helped me in many
areas in education and advised me and encouraged me with reading
lots of informative literature. This knowledge, along with
Feng Shui has helped me to create the feel of love, happiness
and balance in our home and life. For this I am very grateful
to her… for her love.

I loved the
title of your speech – “Am
I talking in Swahili?”
Apart from the humour, I could identify with the sentiments.
Can’t we all?
The Five Languages of Love makes wonderful sense to me and
has been a revelation. I have already started using it with
my family with wonderful results.
What I want to know is why this has been kept a secret for
so long!
The second time
we spoke I was going through a period of feeling quite
ill and also feeling disillusioned with my business. Talking
it through with you enabled me to let go and get myself
to a better place. And then, as often happens when one
is able to let go and go with the flow, out of the blue
I was offered a “dream” job.
If I were to write down the criteria for the perfect job
for me, this is it, and I am over the moon!
Thank you. You truly are able to “make a difference”.

Thank
you ,I felt such a sense of relief!…. there is
some one out there listening and actually HEARING me …….cause
honestly I have told the others who simply say he
needs a ‘flogging ‘, I
do not see that as the answer. I know by the way my son
cares about me that he is not a bad person...
THANK YOU again for hearing me.

Coby Edmunds
provides "real
life" advice with strategies that make sense, and
are easy to embrace. It is obvious that she posseses
a strong and necessary academic background in the area
of her practice, however presents in a very down to earth "real
life" approach.
I am on the 70 hour a week business roundabout and had a few family
problems. When I first met Coby I was fairly disholusioned about why
things were happening to me. Coby taught me to focus on the important things
in my life....me...my family....things that are important to me....things that
I like... She also give me some great techniques to focus, deal with stress,
anxiety and the poor behavour of others.
Since meeting regulary with Coby and putting her advice in to practice, I defnitely
feel better. I am more conscious about what is important, more focused,
and now have real strategies to assist.

Coby gives access to her experiences and solutions that are
born out of her own journey of being a Parent and School
teacher.
Parents learn calming down techniques, the how to of Family
Plans. Along with a step by step approach and support all
the way.
Parents feel listened to and they find it easy to talk to
Coby.
This is a refreshing, and a down to earth guide for parents.

Initially I thought the reason
I contacted Coby was around parenting but I've since realised
it was actually about me and not the children. Speaking
with Coby and communicating with her these last few months has at times made
me think differently and got me out of the rut I had got myself in.
Emigrating to Australia and the whole myriad of emotions and the stresses and
strains of the whole situation changed my life. I lost a sense of who I
was and in the midst of it all I turned into someone I didn't recognise.
Throughout this, my parenting approach at times didn't reflect who I really was
either. As I came out of the grey cloud (from the emigrating) I started
regretting the way I had parented (which was about a 12 month period). This
in turn led me to feel guilty and try to put things right and my whole focus
ended up being the children and how I could negate any wrongs I had done -The
wrongs I am talking here are having HUGE arguments with my husband in front of
my children, shouting at my children whilst I was pregnant which ended up with
me feeling guilty but also worrying about the effect that had. My older daughter
was just more or less just left to cope with her emotions on her own. I
then ended up parenting again in a way that didn't reflect who I really was either
as I was parenting with guilt hanging over me; reading parenting book after parenting
book to find some sort of answer to how I could make things better. I since
realise from talking to Coby - I needed to let go of the guilt.
I no longer model shouting and yelling. I feel like I have connected with
my children again and my children can communicate their feelings through talking
to me now rather than throwing a tantrum. With the odd meltdown I
now don't look at the behaviour - I look and try to find the feeling behind the
behaviour. My children also understand now how their actions can have an
impact on other people and other people's feelings.
The other reason why I feel I have connected with my children is because of the
work Coby Edmunds did with me. You helped me look at my life in perspective
and when I completed some of the activities like seeing how much time I actually
spent on different things and my time was virtually non-existent
it did make me think differently. I realised I was trying to make up for
the episode of unconscious parenting by spending as much time with the children
as I could at the expense of my meeting needs. On quite a few occasions
you said something along the lines of "the real you" or "authentic
self" so I started looking at ways of finding the real me
and rediscovering my authentic self.
To cut a long story short, I am now working 20 hours a week teaching computing
skills on a Women's Programme and I am absolutely loving it. I
have been taking more time out for myself even if at times my husband doesn't
seem to like it - I have gone ahead and done it. I have started my Diploma
in Life Coaching as well which I am enjoying and I have a few more courses lined
up to do including Connection Parenting. My husband has built a rumpus room
in the garden, decorated it beautifully and it is now our spiritual retreat.
At times things do get stressful
juggling work and home-life but there's no place for guilt!!!!!!! not anymore. I
have made peace with myself that at the time I did the best
I could with the information and knowledge I had and the
situation I was in.
So going back to my original sentence - I do think I was meant to find Coby -
but for me and not the children. However, helping me obviously
had helped my children as well.
Thanks very much.

I found it all very worthwhile. Excellent

I found this information interesting relevant
and useful. There were ideas presented that I had not thought
about using with my family. I have found Coby Edmunds workshops
a very useful tool not only with my older child but also
with the younger child of our family. The workbooks are easy
to read and understand and Coby seems to have a grasp on
the reality of life unlike other sources which you can never
put into practice. Thank you Coby.

again.
