Are you looking for a soul mate? Are you unable
to stay in a relationship once you find a potential partner?
Is your current relationship stagnant?
Your bedroom may be a reflection of what is going on in
your life
Some of the answers to the above questions may be found in your
bedroom. It is after all the room where you should spend a lot
of time nurturing yourself, resting and making love.
A person’s environment is often a clue to their mental/emotion
state; this is often on a very subtle level. The good news is
you have the power to change this.
One client felt unsupported by her ‘grumpy’ partner.
Her beautiful home depicted no obvious clues to her feelings
however when Coby saw her bedroom, the problem was obvious; the
decoration said it all!
Hanging over the bed was antique heavily framed photo of a gloomy
looking old man. At the room’s entrance were elegant wire
mannequins and there were more inside, a large one located in
the abundance area, the far left of the room right next to where
she slept. The mannequins stood separately, each on one thin
leg, made of an open wire construction, they were quite fragile
looking. No wonder she felt financially and emotionally unsupported
as she slept with her grumpy partner. She had inadvertently reinforced
how she was feeling through her choice of decoration. A few easy
changes could easily lift the room and create the real feeling
she wanted to experience.
Making choices about what to keep in your bedroom.
You spend about 1/3 of your life in your bedroom and it has
a strong impact on your subconscious - it makes sense to get
it right. Take a good look. Is the room cozy? Does the room nurture
you and encourage rest, romance, love and happiness? What is
the first thing that you see in the morning – a pile of
clothes that need laundering, clutter, or is it something that
subtly sets the mood for the day in a positive way? It is so
much better to wake up to something uplifting rather than clutter
and chores.
Analyze what you have attracted or held onto in your life
through your subconscious thoughts. If you are single, are there
lots pictures of single people or people who belong in your past,
do you only have one bedside table, one lamp? Is your bed full
of teddy bears, stuffed toys and pillows instead of the real
thing?
Hold sentimental items to your heart for a short while and ask
yourself how the item makes you feel, does it keep you stuck
in the past? If it does, it is probably time to let it go, move
on and make room for the new.
Watch Your Thoughts
Wouldn’t it be great if it was as easy as rearranging
your bedroom and your soul mate walks into your life? It is and
then again it isn’t. Your thoughts and insecurities also
need to be addressed. As you go through your room, consider emotional
issues and feelings as they come up. Be honest and gentle with
yourself. There are many things you can do to release or change
them such as simple rituals that encourage self love and emotional
release.
Once you have released old emotions and feelings about past
relationships, it is important to mentally make room for that
new relationship. Visualize exactly what kind partner you wish
to attract and physically create the room for them as if they
are already in your life. Actions that you take right now will
help create the change to give you greater peace, optimism and
security. It is important to stay positive, focused and replace
any negative thoughts with a positive affirmation, stated as
if you have already achieved what you want.
Colour
What about the colours in your room? Are they peaceful, calming,
happy and romantic or are they the drab and lifeless? Your choice
of colour should reflect the mood you wish to create. Colour
has many therapeutic effects on the mind and body. Remember,
colour has an energy all of its own.
Avoid
- too many strong colours, they are too energizing and do not
promote rest and relaxation
- overpowering dark colours, especially black (which is the
absence of colour) These can create a depressed or oppressed
feeling.
- excess of any one colour. Blues for example represent the
water element and are cool and calming but tend to cool emotions
and relationships. White can create a stark and cold mood.
Create balance by using warmer colours with them.
The Bagua Map
Coby usually works with a bagua map rather than a compass. When
standing in the door way of the room the far left represents
the abundance area and the far right the relationship area. What
do you have in your relationship area? Remember to represent
things in pairs, choose uplifting items that are symbolic of
what you want, remove clutter, broken items and any objects that
do not promote bedroom harmony.
Things to avoid in the bedroom
- Pictures of water - the ‘water’ puts out the ‘fire’ in
a relationship and can promote a feeling of loss, draining
or drowning of a relationship and finances.
- Sunsets - represent endings
- Mirrors. Mirrors increase energy - minimize their use. The
mirror should never reflect the bed. If you are in a partnership,
it is like inviting another person into your bed! TV’s
and computers with their mirror like surface do not belong
in a bedroom. If this cannot be avoided cover them over when
you are sleeping.
- The position of your bed is vital. Try to place the bed in
the power position against the wall diagonally opposite the
door enabling you to easily see the door and windows. Do not
place the bed directly opposite the door – this is called
the coffin position, which speaks for itself.
- Poison arrows are sharp objects that have the effect of cutting ‘chi’ (the
positive energy force). These can be overhead beams or edges
of furniture that point directly at you when you are sleeping.
- Heavy objects or frames hanging over the bed - to avoid your
subconscious worrying about something heavy falling on top
of you.
- Avoid using under the bed for storage. Keep the energy in
and around your bed as clean and open as you can. This prevents
negative and stale chi from accumulating.
- Exercise equipment or other items that do not promote romance,
rest and relaxation.
Balance
Feng Shui is about creating balance, harmony and a positive
flow of energy or ‘chi’ to you and the place you
live. This puts you in charge directing the changes you desire.
We are not all blessed with homes that are perfectly designed
to Feng Shui principles; however there are many adjustments or
cures, both on a physical and personal level you, can make that
begin the momentum for change. You are now beginning the process
of learning to love and appreciate yourself. Change your destiny
and enjoy!
May your life be filled with joy, love and prosperity.
Blessings,
